What I like about my work

I enjoy doing deals and working under pressure. It’s great to work with a wide range of people on a variety of projects and to feel mentally stimulated.

What I’ve done in the past

I started out working for a law firm in Invercargill. I joined Anderson Lloyd in Dunedin in 1999, moving to the Christchurch office and joining the Partnership in 2002. I’m originally from Dunedin and knew the firm and its reputation. In 2010 I returned home and I am again based in the Dunedin office.

My approach to working with my clients

I like to work alongside my clients in a collaborative fashion. I seek to understand what they are looking to achieve so that I can get results for them. I really enjoy working with those clients who keep coming back to the firm as I get to know them on a professional and a personal level. It’s great to work with people you know and like.

What I enjoy at work

I really like the feel of the firm.

I get involved in some fantastic deals, work with some wonderful people, and have access to some great resources.

What I enjoy outside of work

I have three small children so I enjoy family time, as well as socialising with friends and a bit of exercise.

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

I don’t have to travel far to work. There are loads of recreation opportunities close by and it’s easy to get out of the city. I like the more relaxed feel of the South Island.
